Real News editor Paul Jay talks to investigative reporter Greg Palast, who notes that Chavez incurred the wrath of the U.S. government, Big Oil and the Koch brothers by using oil revenues to help his people — and charging them a premium for it.
As Palast observes:
What the US oil companies, and the big oil companies around the world didn’t like, is that Chavez wouldn’t give the stuff away. Chavez sells Venezuelan crude oil. As of last week, it was about $101 a barrel. That’s $33 a barrel more than the Canadians sell their heavy oil for, the same type of oil that Chavez sells.
Tell us a little more about what lousy business skills socialists have, Hugo-haters.
